Thanks guys. I just hope we get some new volunteers out of this,
volunteers who are fluent in Hawaiian!

Speaking of achievements, I saw the extended version of The Two Towers on
DVD this last Friday. This one was a definite improvement on the
theatrical version. I think they cut too much out of that one, trying to
slim it for theatrical release. The Faramir in the extended version was a
much more likable guy, for one thing.

And well he should have been.

I love the books too much to see the films, but maybe, someday, I'll see
them all one right after the other, just like I read the books.

He was actually even more like-able in the books.

Or some such.

I've got the Extended Edition of both of the first two films.
(there's another flash of lightning)

Might just see if I can get permission to show 'em a few nights before
2003.12.17.

The Extended Editions seem to target the fans of the books, yeah?

So far, I have the theatrical and extended edition of both DVDs,
and the soundtrack CD of both released movies.

Probably Thursday or Friday, I'll pick up the soundtrack for Return of
the King.

And I know with as much certainty as is possible ("DV"), what I'll be
doing on the 17th.

It was still VERY long for a "Theatrical Release".
I think that "The Ten Commandments" holds the record at 4 hours, yeah?
Short of being able to charge by the minute for tickets, I don't see
this trend changing.

What? Not going to Ward on the 16th to fritter away half a day of your
life? ;)

$$$$$

Also, I already own the movies in question that they are intending to
show the first part of that day.
And I'd like to treat some friends.
So that's $$$$$ * n, so it quickly becomes quite uneconomic.
