Interesting to see posts from the year 2003 reappear on the
newsgroups.

It turns out this is a side-effect of GigaNews having bought-out
SuperNews, the sub-contracted UseNet News provider for LavaNet,
so article numbers now come from a completely different newsfeed,
despite the fact that we still access it via the domain news.lava.net.

What is amazing is that I just read your post from April 3, 2008 one
day short of it's 6th birthday.

Alas, by the time I discovered this group, it was pretty much just a
memory to some.
