Okay, when I type "pine" the stupid thing knows I am "panther" (just in
case I forgot), but I have to type it again, then the password.

My usual habit WAS to start Pine, delete all the Viagra, etc., mails, shut
Pine and start it again. Now I have to do username and password all over
again.

Like I said, extremely annoying.

And I don't doubt for a moment that LavaNet could do something about this,
if they wanted to.

It does seem to have some kind of problem when you want to look at your
sent-mail folder, gives a whole bunch of crap, including the above
sentence, and you have to hit "y" for yes to get to the folder.

just hit 'enter' (whenever pine has a default in brackets like [panther]
it means 'if you hit enter i'll use that')

Why shut it down and restart? x to expunge all the deleted mail. now
it looks like you wanted, right?

Cool! Didn't know about that.

(You'd think someone who has used Pine for more than half a decade would
have explored all its possibilities. What can I say, I'm lazy.)

We're all just creatures of habit. ^_^

This discussion is basically all going *whoosh* over my head (except for
the hit enter to use the default name when starting Pine... I figured that
out...). Thank goodness Michael has the expertise and enjoys this kine
stuff, or SCH would be dead in the water right now.

Ahead of me, didn't realize that was what it was inviting me to do, just
got more annoyed that it knew who I was but couldn't open the door.
